Taça dos Campeões de África: Desportivo Maputo no grupo das campeãs


O DESPORTIVO enfrentará, na fase de grupos da Taça dos Campeões Africanos de Basquetebol sénior feminino, o First Bank da Nigéria, detentora do título, ditou o sorteio realizado na noite de quinta-feira na cidade tunisina de Bizerte, que acolhe a prova até o próximo dia 27.

Entretanto, ontem, na jornada inaugural, o Desportivo venceu o Saint-Louise do Senegal, por 93-21. Ao intervalo a equipa moçambicana já vencia por 56-11.

Hoje, as “alvi-negras” defrontam o ABC da Costa do Marfim, equipa que as eliminou no ano passado nas meias-finais, impedindo-as de continuar a sonhar com o terceiro título.

Na segunda-feira, as comandadas de Nazir Salé enfrentam o First Bank uma equipa tida como uma das mais fortes e potencial candidata a conquistar o troféu.

Mas mesmo perante estes adversários de grande dimensão, o Desportivo reúne argumentos para passar à segunda fase, até porque estreou-se da melhor forma na competição com um triunfo convincente sobre a equipa senegalesa.

O Desportivo completa o calendário da fase de grupos na terça-feira defrontando o INJS dos Camarões, adversário teoricamente acessível.

Sublinhe-se que transitam para os quartos-de-final quatro das cinco equipas presentes em cada um dos grupos.

O Inter Clube de Luanda, adversário do Desportivo na fase de qualificação, integra o Grupo A juntamente com o Arc-En-Ciel do Congo e o Club Sportif Femin Bizerte.

Entretanto, até à noite de quinta-feira ainda só estavam presentes no sorteio cinco das dez equipas participantes, a saber: Desportivo (Moçambique), Inter Clube de Luanda (Angola), Club Mahamasina (Madagáscar), para além da equipa da casa o Club Sportif (Tunísia). Aguardava-se a chegada do Club Sportif Abidjan (Costa do Marfim), First Bank (Nigéria), Arc en Ciel (Congo RD), I.N.J.S (Camarões) e ABC (Costa do Marfim).

GRUPO A: Club Sportif Femin Bizerte (Tunísia), Arc-EN-Ciel (RD Congo), Inter Clube (Angola), Basket-Ball Club Mahamasina (Madagáscar) e Clube Sportif d’Abdjan (Costa do Marfim).

GRUPO B: First Bank Basketball Club (Nigéria), Abidjan Basketball Club-ABC (Costa do Marfim), Saint-Louis Basket Club (Senegal), INJS Basketball (Camarões) e Desportivo (Moçambique) .
